Team SAP (Andy Dunn second left)
Andy Dunn has been appointed the director of Semi Contact fighting at Swindon Martial Arts and Fitness Centre, after dominating the intermediate catergeries on the open circuit winning all 10 of the Cimac superleague events Andy has gone on to dominate in the black belt sections as well holding his own against the UK's best fighters, he also one the British full contact Title but let it go after defending it 3 times to concentrate on one style of fighting. This alone has led to the Approach of team SAP to ask Andy to fight in there team, this means Andy is now part of one of the best fighting squads in the world (as well as representing his local Swindon team) Andy will now be sponsored by the Italian firm SAP who make some of the best fighting equipment around. It is an obvious choice for us at SMAF to appoint Andy as the Director of Semi Contact.

Alan Carters Gloucester Open tournament
We recently Visited Gloucester to compete in Alan Carters tournament, this was a well run affair turned out to be a great day, first on the mats was Lucas Dancey (not shown in the Photo) who was in the boy's -140cm division. Lucas showed great attacking skills winning his first fights taking him to the final where a more experienced opponent used his knowledge to put Lucas on his back foot and managed to force the win, however 2nd place is well deserved and will push Lucas on in his very early journey into competition. Next on the Mat Was Alex Sanchez who was in the boys black belt +160cm division, Alex is only a novice fighter but always puts his heart into training, so when we were told there were no novices for him to fight we didn't mind him fighting in the black belt section knowing the experience would do him good. What shocked us was the way Alex just raised his game to there level winning all 3 fights making him the overall winner. Kate Reeves was faced with the same situation as Alex in the Ladies section but also stepped up to the level that was needed to win Gold. Our Adult men all did tremendously well all reaching the finals and those that lost only lost to there fellow team mates. This was a good day and we'd like to Thank Alan for inviting us and we can't wait to see him at the next one.
